What is prenatal yoga ?

Prenatal yoga is the nurturing activity undertaken when time is spent to gently relax, release and connect to your body and rapidly growing baby. The natural restorative energies of the body are enhanced through gentle yoga postures, creating a beautiful foundation and support network in preparation to face childbirth with courage and empowerment. 


Prenatal Yoga Benefits

When pregnant,  we feel the strains of the ever changing body particularly the new demands on the back. Yoga work counterbalances the growing abdomen to maintain good posture while stretching increases strength and stamina. It reduces water retention, pain, stress and anxiety. Toning the pelvic floor allows for more controlled birthing, lessens complications and enhances post natal healing.  Taking time to pause from the stresses of every day activity to fully connect with your body, enables you to enjoy these augmented senses. Breath awareness is essential for relaxation, comfort and confidence. As hormones change, emotions are heightened and feelings may be experienced with surprising depth. Noticing and allowing  to feel these emotions more fully has a positive effect on your health as well as your baby’s health. 


Is prenatal yoga suitable for all stages of pregnancy ?

prenatal yoga is suitable for every stage of pregnancy, including labour. All women experience some fear of labour. However a simple foundation in yoga prepares you to face child birth with courage and empowerment. To be relaxed and confident during labour reduces fear, tension and fatigue. Flexibility and calmness ease the birthing process, reducing pain and increasing the joy surrounding birth. Even If you have never practiced yoga before, being pregnant can provide the encouragement and motivation for beginning this healthful practice so that you can carry on long after baby is born. 

Momma & Baby Yoga


As a momma of 3 daughters I know the importants of selfcare. That is exactly what the focus is during these empowering classes!! My goal is to create a community for women to share, be heard and accepted while nurturing the self through gentle feel good postures along side their growing babies. I love creating a space  where you can get out, meet other mommas and babies and practice self care at its finest. During these classes babies rest along side and are incorporated in the class for part of the movements. Breath work, gentle mindful postures and relaxation are all part of this 60 minute class. 


Hot Stone Restorative Yoga

Hotstone restorative yoga is a nurturing, deeply soothing and therapeutic form of yoga that increases relaxation of the mind body and soul. It helps balance the body’s systems and realign the energy flow to support the natural healing process of the body. 

During this 2 hour class you will be led through a series of gentle, therapeutic poses supported with blankets, pillows, bolsters and eye masks. Heated basalt stones are gently placed in varies areas over the body depending on each pose. The heated stones help to relax  the muscles in order to release tension and pain stored within the body, easing the mind of stress and anxiety. 


What is reiki?


Reiki is an ancient Japenese healing technique that helps create deep relaxation within the body to promote self healing whether it be on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level. 

Reiki is not based on belief, faith or suggestion. It is not affiliated with any religion or religious practice. Reiki aims to help you spiritually as well as physically, mentally and emotionally. You do not need to belong to a specific church to benefit from the positive healing benefits of reiki. 

What to expect during a reiki session


During this 60 minute session you will be set up in a private soothing room with gentle relaxing music. You will lie on a massage table, fully clothed with  blankets, pillows and an eye mask that is provided. During the session you may become so relaxed that you fall asleep. Some clients can sense, feel or envision energy being unblocked. Some people even experience a warm glowing energy whereas others simply have an overall feeling of relaxation. The reiki practitioners hands are placed just above the body and there is no need for direct contact in order to receive the full benefits of reiki. We will dive deep into what no longer serves your higher good and release any attachments that may be holding you back or keeping you stuck.

Everyone can benefit from reiki no matter the health condition or life issue . Reiki is a natural way to alleviate pain in the physical body. If you suffer from chronic pain, your pain scale should go down by the end of just one session. Depending on the condition, inflammation may subside for a few days. With regular treatments it is possible for the body to heal itself. 

Feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, jealousy, guilt, insecurity or any other negative life force energies are real and occur for several reasons. Stress can drain the body of vital energy and cause fatigue as well as create an overwhelming mindset. Reiki can help alleviate these heavy burdens from your mind, body and soul. It can also help by connecting you to your inner-self, giving you clarity when faced with challenges or decisons.

Access is a set of tools and processes that are designed to facilitate more consciousness for everyone. Consciousness includes everything without judgment. It is the willingness and capacity to be totally aware, totally present in all areas of your life. Consciousness is the ability to continually awaken to more possibility, more choice and more life. 

The invitation of access is to help you acknowledge you as the infinite being you truly are and to step into generating a life beyond the you, you think you are. As an infinite being you function from infinite perceiving, knowing, being and receiving. As an infinite being all things are possible all the time and you have total choice. 

As finite beings, the tendency is to function from thoughts, feelings and emotions. Access Consciousness is about unlocking you from the polarity, imprisonment, conditioning and limitation of thoughts, feelings and emotions. When we are functioning from finiteness we choose to have little choice and limited possibilities.

I was fortunate to attend a prenatal yoga class led by Amanda. She was so good at understanding what my body needed and what I needed. She used different supports to help guide me in poses and stretches that otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do. I didn’t realize in my busy life how little I actually connected with my baby. Amanda’s class refocused my energy on my body and growing my baby. It was very relaxing and a special time for me.

Yoga was a completely new thing to me when I started prenatal yoga. Of course, I had heard of the many great benefits of yoga but honestly wasn’t sure it was my thing. Before my pregnancy I was having issues with my sciatic nerve and had heard many horror  stories that pregnancy could make it much worse and was recommended to try prenatal yoga. I signed up right away when I found out I was expecting and to my surprise I actually really enjoyed it. The stretching, the meditations, and the relaxing environment had me hooked!
